Bryan Keith Fowler is an E-RYT500 registered with the Yoga Alliance, and has taught yoga since the year 2000. He and his teaching partner Andrea Fournet are the co-founders of VariYoga. They have been front runners in the evolution of yoga in the western world, moving away from strict dogma and emphasizing an adaptation of the practice for the needs of the individual.
Bryan has taught in eleven VariYoga teacher training series, as well as many workshops and retreats. His main focus for the past 17 years has been on yoga postures, yoga philosophy, and anatomy and physiology as it pertains to yoga. Bryan, along with his friend and yoga partner Andrea, co-authored the book “VariYoga – One Journey, Many Paths”. The book presents the VariYoga approach to an accessible and sustainable practice. It is sprinkled throughout with VariYoga aphorisms and philosophy.
A new direction surfaced only a few years ago when Bryan started exploring chanting and kirtan. This presented the perfect merging of his passion for yoga philosophy with his passion for music. He is now creating Sanskrit Chanting and Kirtan music under the name Bryanjali.

Bryan first discovered music at the age of four, when he was able to pick out the entire melody of Frère Jacques on the piano. His parents were in another room at the time, and wondered who was playing the piano. To their surprise it was their four year old. This initial discovery was followed by nine years of traditional piano lessons, and thousands of hours of practice. Through all this, Bryan was consistent and insistent on rewriting just about every song he was given by his teachers. This resulted in a lot of frustration for his teachers, but helped develop his unique perspective on music and composition.
Bryan has created music for many years, but until now, none of it has been commercially available. His music has been used on the majority of episodes of VariYoga with Andrea, and in countless yoga classes and workshops. His first album of Chanting and Kirtan is now available. He plans to continue creating new music in addition to making his back catalog available. This includes his instrumental work for yoga practice and the music from TV soundtracks, as well as piano solos.
