About Kim Valeri

Kim Valeri, is the Founder and CEO of yogaspirit® studios. Kim is a leader and visionary committed to uniting the worlds of Ayurveda and Yoga knowing both paths share the common understanding that all disease is rooted from the mind's disharmony with one's heart. Kim is an Ayurveda Yoga Therapist, AYT (NAMA) &  CIAYT (IAYT), E-RYT 500, YACEP (Yoga Alliance), certified Ayurveda Practitioner CAP (NAMA), certified Neurolinguistic Practitioner, and Pranic Healer who works to raise conscious awareness by bringing clarity and understanding to all aspects of life and for being a catalyst for accelerated personal growth. Through yogaspirit® and her teachings, Kim has been able to assist in the evolution and healing of human consciousness by way of education and inspiration. She believes this is best done through strengthening the natural human resource of body, mind and spirit. If we have healthy, wise, discerning, strong, flexible, understanding, compassionate people, making empowered decisions for the highest good of all, we can become the remedy to our world's most urgent problems.

Kim serves on the Protection and Access to Complementary and Alternative Health Care Committee providing legislative lobbying with Health Freedom Action in Massachusetts. She leads on the Massachusetts National Ayurveda Medical Association and holds professional memberships with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and Yoga Alliance (YA).

She founded yogaspirit® studios in 1997 to share the powerful teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda from her home base in New England and has supported students worldwide using the healing art of self-realization. With 30 years of personal practice and over a decade of certifying yoga teachers, Kim brings an authenticity of blended spiritual compassion with technical proficiency to her teacher trainings and as an educator of Yoga and Ayurveda. She has been providing wellness services for clients since 1997 and utilizes her expertise in therapeutic mind/body treatments, ayurveda protocols and yoga to serve her clients. In addition to teaching throughout New England, Kim has lead international retreats to India, Europe, Costa Rica and the Caribbean and has presented at Yoga Journal Boston Conference and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health

Kim is a guest teachers of Yoga Therapy for Kerala Ayurveda Academy and is grateful for her many teachers which primarily include Dr. Jayarajan Kodikannath of Kerala Ayurveda in Fremont, CA, Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar, and Pratibha Shah, Doctor of Ayurveda. Kim used her organizational leadership at Kerala Ayurveda Academy and made her way to the highest ranking executive position, CEO (2012-2015). During her leadership at the academy Kim was instrumental in strengthening the school's administration and transforming strategic, operational, and technological academic platforms.

Kim has a wealth of knowledge gained from firsthand experience after turning to alternative medicine in the early 1980’s, Kim has realized, firsthand, the power of healing and liberation from chronic pain through meditation which opened the doorway to her mystical journey. Her transformation in overcoming serious near-death injury, illness, and life events has allowed her to free her consciousness and acquire the knowledge to release pain and suffering within herself, and in turn, to help others.

Kim studied with Senior Iyengar Teacher Patricia Walden in Somerville, MA In the late 80's and in 1993 took Patricia's first Two Year Teacher Training program which completed in 1995. Kim continued studying with Patricia until 2002 and highly respects the excellence in the teaching she was given and in the Iyengar Tradition and much inspiration from that time in her life is rooted in her own teaching today. In 1994 Kim became certified in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Kim decided that both of these paths were essential to one another and to her evolution. Kim decided not to choose a particular tradition and instead chose to follow the path of inner contemplation and direct experience which comes from a committed Sadhana. This led her to the practice of Surat Shabda Yoga and is where the innermost teachings of mystical yoga, tantra, and secrets for a happy life were revealed. The essence of this devotional practice is in contemplation of inner sound. Through turning the senses inward, and connecting with the Nadaam, or vibrational sound current of life, her innate realization of the soul’s song manifested in her outer gifts of music and message. She is a portal for healing, a pathfinder for awakening, and a bridge for those seeking connection.

Kim and her loving husband Jim share a blended family of five musically talented children ranging in ages from 14-28 years old. Kim is a musician and competes as a bare-bow Olympic Recurve Archer.
