Gerry Sander is a Yoga Therapist certified by The International Association of Yoga Therapists, a certified Tai Chi Teacher (Level Three) by ATCQA, and a licensed Occupational Therapist. He is also an E-RYT, experienced registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance.
He is a former professor who has taught Yoga Therapy and functional anatomy at all university levels, and has provided consultation in workplace safety, alignment, attention, and endurance through Yoga Therapy for medical, administrative, retail, and industrial workplaces.
His decades of experience with Yoga Therapy and Tai Chi, includes working with clients in hospital and mental health units, out-patient, and home release, and also private clients with goals of improved balance and coordination, increased sensory awareness, stress and mood management, and healthy aging.
Gerry works to refine the essential and active historical elements of Yoga Therapy and Tai Chi, delivering service in a down-to-earth, accessible and clear approach. He has presented this Yoga Therapy based continuing education as an approved provider for the American Occupational Therapy Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the American Council on Exercise, the Yoga Alliance, and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Sander Yoga Therapy provides instruction, with client approval, in asana (postures and forms), pranayama and Qigong (breath-work), relaxation, meditation, mudra (energetic gestures and seals), bandha (energy locks: specific muscle contractions), mantra (sounds), mindfulness, bhavana (imagery), sankalpa (affirmation/intention), and education in yoga philosophy.
All practices will be explained thoroughly. Client may stop any practice at any time, and refuse to continue any practice.
